Abandoned Disney Resort Suffers from Lawlessness and Decay: Inside the Haunting Transformation of a Once-Luxurious Hotel

An intrepid explorer has provided a look inside a derelict Disney World resort left deserted for over a decade, now a desolate realm overridden by vandalism and waste.

Josh, known as Exploring With Josh on social platforms, has garnered internet fame exploring eerie abandoned sites worldwide, from ‘haunted’ lodgings to charred mansions.

The focus of his recent venture was the forlorn Orlando Sun Resort, once a prestigious establishment near Disney World and a renowned luxury hotel in the area.

Opened in 1972, the resort showcased premium amenities like a ballroom, expansive swimming pool, sauna, over 600 rooms, and 27 suites. Today, a mere silhouette of its former glory, it ceased operations in 2012, transforming into a canvas for graffiti artists and minor lawbreakers, morphing into a decaying ghost town.

Upon entering the resort, Josh confronted heaps of debris strewn across the premises, narrating how the grounds now harbor homeless individuals and serve as a dumping ground for discarded possessions.

In his video documentation, Josh unveiled the extensive degradation of the site, revealing vast spaces with collapsed roofs, litter-strewn floors, mattresses flung out of windowless chambers, and a pool tainted with murky green water.

As Josh delves into the resort’s sinister past, his friend chillingly mentioned a recent murder that occurred just outside the premises, noting the presence of around a dozen homeless occupants on the property, emphasizing the absence of laws within its confines.

Harking back to its prime, the resort was a preeminent Central Florida tourism landmark, encompassing a multitude of luxurious amenities. Nevertheless, the site’s dilapidated state today, juxtaposed with its illustrious history, serves as a stark reminder of its former grandeur.
