Florida Man Sues Casino over $500K Winnings and Lifetime Ban

A recent lawsuit filed in North Carolina involves a Florida man, Emmanuel Kromah, who took legal action against a casino for reportedly holding his $500,000 payout. The incident dates back to June 2024 when Kromah placed a substantial $143,000 bet at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, predicting the Boston Celtics would clinch the NBA Championship. His prediction came true, landing him over half a million dollars in winnings. However, upon his visit to claim the prize, the casino staff unexpectedly escorted him off the premises instead of facilitating the payment. Even though Kromah eventually received his money after 10 days, the situation took a bitter turn as he was issued a lifetime ban from all casino establishments affiliated with Harrah’s. Seeking justice, Kromah is now pursuing legal retribution by seeking damages through a court verdict.

The matter drew attention from Channel 9, who sought a response from the resort’s parent company, Caesar’s Entertainment, regarding the contentious event. Unfortunately, no official statement has been received to date.
